Archived: Call for Photographers [closed]

Are you interested in helping us capture WordCamp Europe 2020 on camera? Do you love documentary-style photography or event coverage and the WordPress community? If so, this volunteering opportunity will be perfect for you!

The Call for Photographers is closed.

The application deadline is 25 March 2020 to volunteer at this year’s event, so apply today!

Bring your skills to WCEU

Whether you are a photographer who has volunteered with us at other WCEUs, or you’re interested in joining the Photography Team for the first time, this is a great way of helping us document the event and becoming a part of the WordPress community.

Check out the #WCEU photo gallery to see work from many talented photographers and photo editors, who beautifully documented past editions of WordCamp Europe. We’re looking for similar styles of photography.

Feeling inspired? Apply to bring your skills to WCEU 2020.

The volunteer photographer role

By being part of the Photography team at #WCEU, you will bring your valuable experience and put it to use for the WordPress community. YOu’ll meet lots of interesting people along the way, working with a group of like-minded photographers to create lasting memories and deliver photos that tell the WCEU story from your point of view.

As an official WCEU photographer you will be expected to:

  • shoot in your own style
  • produce sharp, high quality photos and/or video
  • edit and post-process your images
  • release your images under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International license

Like all the other roles at WordCamp Europe, photography will be volunteer based, so there is no remuneration. Travel to and from Porto (flights, train, bus etc.), hotel fees and any other expense incurred will be your own responsibility, but you will receive a free attendee ticket and an invitation to the exclusive Volunteers Social as thanks for your contribution.

WordPress is not only about code and poetry, it is also about community, bringing people together and learning from each other.

A WordCamp embodies this like no other event and, to make it memorable, we need your help. We want you to bring your unique vision and your photo and video skills to Porto in June.

Please fill in this form to apply.

Do not forget to add a link to your portfolio or online gallery in the form. Your application can only be considered if you provide us with examples of your work. Thank you for understanding.

The Call for Photographers will accept submissions until 25 March, 2020 and each applicant will be notified whether their application was accepted or not.
